How I got here

I started at a hedge fund as a portfolio manager, building trading models and trading the fund's capital in crude oil, S&P 500 and Treasury futures. That's where I learned to check the data before I form an opinion, and I never stopped.

Real estate came next, and it's been 10 years now. First residential, then 8 years as a commercial real estate broker. Along the way I've closed more than $120 million in real estate transactions and prepared valuations on more than $2 billion of property for investment funds, companies and private owners.

Commercial work covers the whole cycle. You win the client with a valuation, market the property, bring the buyers in, defend the numbers when they're challenged, handle the renegotiations and work every detail through to closing. I did all of it, against people who are very good at this.

I came back to residential because I saw an opportunity. In commercial real estate, every client expects a detailed valuation and a clear plan before anything goes on the market. Homeowners deserve the same, because a home is usually the biggest financial decision they'll make. That's the level of work I bring to my clients.

What working together feels like

Prepared. The homework is done before we meet. I'll already know what has sold near you and what you'd be competing with, so when we talk price, you see the comparable sales and the reasoning, not just a number.

Clear. You'll always know where things stand, what happens next and what I recommend. You won't have to chase me for an update.

Quiet, when you want it. No sign in the yard, no interior photos on Zillow and the other search sites, and a quiet launch to agents first when that suits your timing, where the MLS rules allow.

Straight. That includes the advice not to sell, not to buy, or not to counter. I'll tell you the number even if it isn't the one you hoped for. The business only works if you'd call me again.

Off the clock

Born in Chicago and raised in Boulder, I've spent most of my life in Colorado, and I have a deep appreciation for the places that make it special. From Denver's distinct neighborhoods to mountain towns that feel worlds away, I know how much a sense of place shapes the way people live. My wife is an interior designer, which has given me an eye for thoughtful design, architecture and the details that make a space feel like home.

Outside of work, I'm a husband, a dad and the proud owner of a Belgian Malinois. You'll find us at Washington Park, on a trip to Aspen, my favorite mountain town, or making the most of Colorado's outdoors, from hiking to white-water rafting. I'm always up for an adventure, especially when a great restaurant is waiting afterward.
